Time to pack the allotment in I reckon. It's much easier to buy veggies.

As for the bell ringing, it would be a shame to give it up if Mum really likes it. It sounds like she carried on like a real trooper. Good on you, but are you both going to continue? Maybe it's one of those scars/injuries you just have to get - like the exhaust pipe burn scars most backpackers, who've been to Thailand, carry around with them!
