FIRST PLANTING

Well as you can see we have planted about one third of our plot, and it was bloody hard work.15O Potatoes.40Strawberry plants,15 Cabbages, and assorted fruit bushes. When we come back from seeing Jonny we will be putting in some Broad Beans, French Beans and some Swede and that will be it for this year.Putting in the spuds was back breaking and not as easy as Hugh Fearnly Whittingstall said it would be.But they are in and the buggers better start growing. One of the pictures below is the entry list for the produce show in September which we may or may not enter,it all depends on growing results, although Lynn will enter one of the cookery classes.First prize in any class is 60p with the runner up getting 40p,so as they say its all to play for as the stakes are so high
Who would have thought that this time last year we would be considering entering a produce show.I suppose this is what country living is all about. If it is then we love every minute.
